Bookkeeper:

Open until filled

SCOPE OF WORK - Responsible for overall Accounting / Bookkeeping activities in keeping with non-profit accounting practices. Communication with organization’s staff, participants, donors, and vendors. Processing of staff & teachers payroll..

General responsibilities may include:

  • Performs daily deposits; gathering of appropriate documents; verify correct calculations

  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.

  • Reconciliation of bank statement accounts and credit card statements

  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.

  • Maintains financial historical records; filing accounting documents; secures financial info

  • Assist with annual audit, gathering required documentation, copies, organize books.

  • Gathering and creating financial reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors

  • Assist with administrative duties, as required.

All duties are performed with excellence with particular attention to customer service both internal and external. Internally customer service includes co-workers, donors, program participants, Board of Directors and volunteers.

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (not required but is a plus)

  • 2-4 years accounting/bookkeeping experience

Bookkeeper Skills and Qualifications:

  • Administrative Writing Skills, Organization, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills, Financial Software experience – Specifically Strong QuickBooks Online and Excel spreadsheets, Analyzing Information, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication.

Flexible Schedule (20 hours a month)

Reports directly to the Executive Director
