Community Engagement Coordinator

Our ideal candidate will be excited to work with the community at large and SNC staff. The Community Engagement Coordinator needs to be an organized, collaborative, independent worker who is passionate about SNC’s mission and will be a positive ambassador for environmental education in the local community.


Special Events Coordination (70%)

  • Work closely with Development Committee and Executive Director to plan Special Events

  • Coordinate all main fundraising events including but not limited to: Earth Day Soiree, Farm to Fork, Halloween Journey, Fry Street Quartet, Annual Gala, and the Canyon Jams Concert Series.

Volunteer Coordination (15%)

  • Work closely with program Directors to identify volunteer needs

  • Recruit, schedule, and train volunteers

  • Coordinate volunteer projects

  • Maintain volunteer database including recording hours

  • Assist with recognition of volunteers through social media/special retreats/parties/media

  • Serve as SNC liaison with volunteer organizations/groups

  • Plan and coordinate volunteer appreciation banquet

Community Outreach and Membership  (15%)

  • Maintain and cultivate current SNC members and community partnerships

  • Maintain a consistent presence at local community events that match with our mission

  • Promote community events and volunteer opportunities via online calendars, social media, networking opportunities, and local businesses.


This is a part-time permanent position. This position will require 20-30 hours per week at the rate of $13.00/hr. Schedule will vary week to week and applicants must be able to work evenings and Saturdays.  

About Stokes Nature Center

Our Mission is to provide nature education, promote outdoor exploration, and foster appreciation and stewardship of our natural world for people of all ages. We are a private, non-profit nature center established in 1997.  We offer programs at our center in Logan Canyon, our Nibley property, Cache Valley schools, and at various outdoor locations in the surrounding valley and mountains.
