Guided Naturalist Hikes

Enjoy a guided hike and learn about our National Forest & Logan Canyon with one of our Naturalists!

$10 per person, minimum of 7 people or $70, maximum group size of 10.

Hike Options

Architects of Logan Canyon- Learn about both the humans and animals who have shaped this environment. We'll be hiking the Temple Fork Trail an easy 5 mile hike past beaver ponds and ending at the historic Logan Temple Sawmill site.

Flowers and Stones- Enjoy an easy 1.5 mile loop around Tony Grove Lake and learn about the unique geology and abundant plant life found here.

Utah's Alpine Ecosystems This 4.2 mile hike up Maughans Hollow will take us along the river through aspen groves and sprawling meadows with fantastic views of the Northern Bear River Range.

Michelle Sagers

Michelle Sagers is the Community Programs Naturalist Educator at Stokes. Michelle was born and raised in Cache Valley where she spent summers camping and hiking within the Cache National Forest. She has worked as the Education Director at Willow Park Zoo, an Interpretive Park Ranger in Everglades National park and as a Biological Technician on the Fisher reintroduction crew in Olympic National Park. Most recently she worked as the Education Coordinator at the David Traylor Zoo in Kansas. She is excited to be back home sharing her love of nature and the National Forest.

Patrick Kelly

Patrick is the Director of Education at Stokes Nature Center and your naturalist guide! He is a seasoned naturalist specializing in flora, ecology, and human history. Prior to working at Stokes, he spent 5 years as a naturalist guide in Alaska including several seasons as the lead naturalist at the prestigious Denali Education Center in Denali, AK. He has a love of taking people outside and discovering new places. He is also an adjunct professor at Utah State University specializing in experiential and environmental education, and science communication. He is a Wilderness First Responder.
