FAQ:

Am I allowed to attend the program with my child?

Yes, parents are welcome to attend as chaperones free of charge. For our snowshoeing programs, we have a limit on chaperones due to our snowshoe supply. We encourage chaperones to assist our educators throughout the program. Discipline and keeping students focused can be especially challenging in an outdoor setting, so we ask that you help to facilitate a safe and calm learning environment for all students.

I have a young child that can’t be left behind during the program. Can I bring them along?

Yes, you may bring your little ones along to the program. As long as they aren’t participating in the program, there is no fee for children 3 and under that need to tag along. Our program sites will typically have picnic tables, pavilions, or other areas where younger children can stay with an adult while the program is running. For our snowshoe programs, we will only have snowshoes available for the students registered, so little ones will need to stay at the pavilion as they won’t be able to participate in the snowshoe hike.

Will there be more homeschool programs offered throughout the school year?

Hopefully! If the interest in homeschool programs is high enough, we will be able to expand our program offerings and start offering more regularly-scheduled field experiences throughout all seasons and more frequently throughout the school year.

How to Plan for your Homeschool Visit:

  • See details in each of the program descriptions, available above.

  • Drinking fountains and bathrooms may be limited or not accessible at all at program sites depending on location and time of year.

  • Please prepare your students to be outside the entire time. Students should dress in layers and have appropriate shoes for the weather (in winter, no tennis shoes please, in fall/spring, no sandals - closed-toe shoes only, please!)
